Italven was the first tannery to introduce vegetable tanning into the world of exotic leathers. Our LCA proves that metal-free crocodile leather reduces environmental impact by 45% compared to chrome-tanned alligator. The study allowed us to identify critical phases, optimize processes, and communicate our sustainability journey with full transparency.

Italven’s Sustainability Report consolidates environmental, social, and governance performance according to the European Sustainability Reporting Standards. It measures progress in energy efficiency, water and waste management, and ethical sourcing. The report expresses Italven’s ongoing commitment to transparency and continuous improvement, combining science, craftsmanship, and responsibility in a shared vision of sustainable tanning.

Italven measures and reports its greenhouse gas emissions every year in compliance with UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019.

In 2024, total emissions amounted to 746 tons of CO₂ equivalent, covering energy consumption, industrial processes, transport, and indirect activities.

This result strengthens our commitment to reducing environmental impact and confirms the transparency of our journey towards increasingly sustainable tanning.
